Blog 4: Time travel
Hello everyone, today I'm writing about time travel. I think if I would have the opportunity I´ll travel to the past, like to the medieval age.
This is because I love the clothes at that age and also the dances, queens and kings, horses, etc.
Something like "Pride and Prejudice". Furthermore, the Disney movies like Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the seven dwarfs, influenced my childhood and the human adaptations of these films gave me a view of what was that age.
The environment was so natural, and houses bring a family sense. "Pride and Prejudice" isn´t the only film set in this age, there also exist "Enola Holmes", "Mujercitas", etc.I have to tell that I would go there apart from the cultural reasons to observe the differences between genders.
If in a way in the present, we change compared to that age? something still the same about the women and men in society?
But well, something that we know is that the culture of this time and the social thoughts were so different. Women don´t have the opportunities like in the present, only could be made for the house, family, kitchen, laundry, and the best thing in her life was to have children or got married.
Women that challenged this system seem like witches, weirds, that don´t deserve to be alive, receiving bad comments, being drawn away by mobs, and being burned at the stake.
Considering the last words and other examples, such that the men have a lot of independence and liberty compared to women, the men have the last word in the house or attend to family problems, and the fact of having female girls was considered unfortunate.
For that reason, I don´t like to stay there. But is important to mention that like society we evolved a little bit.
Hi Isidora! I really like that age too, I love a lot those films that you put in your blog! they are really good movies, I also agree with you to not wanting to stay in that age.
ResponderEliminarHi Isidora, I really love old times because of the clothes that women used to wear before and all that, but of course it's hard to want to stay in the past with all that macho culture.
ResponderEliminarHello, there are too many good works set about that time, but as you say, staying is not such a good life option.
ResponderEliminarHello Isidora, it must be scary but incredible to travel to the medieval era, that so many injustices occur but good things at the same time and see how women have achieved everything.
ResponderEliminarHello Isidora, I think that era is quite romantic, it is true that women are coming out of patriarchal norms, I think I would have liked to kick some patriarchal asses as a feminist writer, that reminds me of the story of the first Italian lawyer, Lidia Poët, I recommend that series.
